For residents and commercial businesses of the Town of Mamaroneck unincorporated area and the Village of Larchmont the site will provide useful information regarding recycling and garbage disposal.  Using this site is easy. Users can click onto the Collection Calendar to find out their recycling and garbage collection schedule by simply inputting their address. The Waste Wizard Recyclopedia provides guidance on to dispose or recycle over 250 individual items. Please take the time to browse the site and learn how easy it is to use. We also welcome your comments. YARD WASTE regulations

The Sanitation Commission will collect yard waste between April 4, 2024 to November 1, 2024.  Questions? Call Sanitation at 914-381-7810

The following regulations apply to Yard Waste material set out for collection:

  • Yard waste is: grass clippings, leaves, small branches (bundled) and other plant material, no dirt is to be mixed in. Dirt is not yard waste and will not be collected

  • Yard waste is collected on your second garbage collection day either Thursday or Friday

  • Yard waste may not be set out earlier than the night before collection, and should be set out by 6:30am on your second day of collection

  • Yard waste must be set out in compostable brown bags or in a clean garbage can. Plastic bags are not acceptable

  • The Commission will NOT collect more than ten (10) bags or ten (10) cans of yard waste in any one collection. Excess material may be brought to the Maxwell Avenue Recycling Center by residents only. Landscapers and Gardeners may not bring organic material to the facility

  • Bags/cans of organics may not weigh more than 75lbs



Dumping Limitations at maxwell Avenue

DUE TO CAPACITY LIMITATIONS, FULLY LOADED TRUCKS AND VANS, ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DUMP LOADS AT THE MAXWELL AVENUE RECYCLING CENTER/ TRANSFER STATION AT ANY TIME, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS OF THE COMMISSION.

THE COMMISSION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO FURTHER LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF MATERIAL TO BE ACCEPTED AT MAXWELL AVENUE AT ANY TIME.

RESIDENT IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL VEHICLES USING THE FACILITY.

Curbside Exemption Forms are now available

A curbside garbage collection exemption application form is now available by calling 914-381-7810. The form includes instructions on how to complete the form.

Please come to the yard at least 15 minutes before closing to ensure all materials are properly disposed of in a timely manner.

Monday: 8am – 3pm
Tuesday: 8am – 2pm* Garbage is only accepted until 1pm every Tuesday. Residents are able to drop off other items until 2pm.
Wednesday: Closed
Thursday: 8am – 3pm
Friday: 8am – 3pm
Saturday: 8am – 11:45am
Sunday: Closed
